Is there a rule that allows owners or landlords to deny someone based on a felony. I have a tenant that has felony for drug charges and I wanted to know if I could deny based on that?
It depends on the charge, the severity and how long ago. A drug charge from 20 years ago is not as bad a drug charge for distribution last year. So you have to use your own common sense vs how bad you need to rent the property. It also depends on the type of property it is.
